In 2017, Toyota signed an agreement with Suzuki. Which will build cars from Maruti Suzuki’s portfolio, be rebadged with the Toyota logo, and be sold through Toyota dealerships. The Glanza – the identical twin of the Maruti Baleno – is the first result of this Japanese automaker’s relationship.

Here are the 10 best things you need to know about the Toyota Glanza.

    1. Same Design

If the two are standing together, you may have difficulty telling their design cues and features like lines and panels apart. All things are pretty much the same. You have to admit it’s a pretty good-looking product. But Glanza is nothing but a rebadged Baleno. Its front fascia, stylish projector headlights, chrome garnish, two-slat grille, and sharp bumper are all made of Baleno material. The vehicle’s dual-tone alloy wheels, bulging beltline, and subtly flared off-road mud rim wheel arches are identical. The car’s rear also looks Baleno-like, with its chrome strip and smart tail lamp clusters.

    2. The First Partnership Model

The Toyota Glanza is the first product in the country to be designed in partnership between Toyota and Maruti Suzuki. The vehicle is a rebadged Maruti Suzuki Baleno hatchback with minimal cosmetic and interior updates. It was the best way to launch sales after introducing the rebadged model, as India’s premium hatchback segment model has been widely adopted. Many of their other models, like the Maruti Brezza and Ertiga, will come into the competition in the future.

    3. No Diesel Engine Option

There are two BS6 petrol engines on offer: the 1.2-liter K12B motor with 83bhp and 113Nm of torque, and the 1.2-liter, Dualjet K12C motor with mild-hybrid technology. The mild-hybrid technology is only available on the G variant. The car engine is paired with either a CVT or a 5-speed manual transmission.

    4. The Interior Layout is the Same

Toyota Glanza’s cabin is more significant than Baleno’s. Apart from the badge on the infotainment screen and steering wheel. Because the car’s openness has successfully attracted customers. The car’s cabin is given a black theme with blue contrast on the upholstery. Your Quas has an adjustment facility for the reach rack. The vehicle has a TFT multi-information display in the center of the speedometer and tachometer dials. Its boot space is 339 liters. The plastic quality is excellent, and there is plenty of storage space. The front seats of the car are enormous. You can sit comfortably in it and enjoy a long journey.

    5. Top End Variants

The Toyota Glanza is positioned as a premium hatchback. The model has two trim levels: G and V, which are available in four variants. G, G CVT, V, and V CVT. These trim levels are based on Zeta, and Aplha trims on Baleno.

    6. Smooth Performance

We drove the K12B engine, which we can also have with a CVT gearbox. Start the 24 Inch Rims car engine, and what can barely hear the motor? Mid-range is where this motor feels its best. However, the CVT’s rubber-band effect we experienced when we floored it is acceptable. But after 3000rpm, the engine becomes very fast. The car feels light. A sports button on the gear lever’s side changes the engine’s quality and transmission.

    7. Lots of Stuff on Offer

In terms of features, the Glanza is loaded with 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, a mild hybrid system, LED projector headlamps, rear defogger, wipers, front fog lights, 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system (Smart PlayCast). Other features of this vehicle include USB, Bluetooth, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay compatibility, power-adjustable and folding wing mirrors, dual front airbags, ABS, EBD, brake assist, etc. The vehicle also has seat belt reminders, speed warnings, and rear parking sensors for seat belts.

    8. It’s A Cheap Runabout

The 1.2-litre K12B engine delivers an impressive fuel efficiency of 21.01kpl, mated to a manual transmission and 19.56kpl, and mated to a CVT gearbox. At the same time, the dual jet motor, with its mild hybrid system, delivers 23.87kpl.

    9. It Rides and Handles Well

Despite bumps, the Glanza doesn’t leak any of them into the cabin. The ride remains smooth even at high speeds, and the car is stable without being jittery. However, suspension noise becomes detectable at speeds exceeding three digits. During quick lane changes, the car maintains body control and inspires confidence. A light steering system provides a decent response.

    10. Great Warranty Package

Users love Glanza because of its features. Another highlight of this vehicle is that it comes with a 3-year/1,00,000 km warranty. In comparison, the Baleno offers a 2-year/40,000 km warranty. The Glanza is 65,000 cheaper than the Baleno, making it the best in terms of price.

What Kind of Engine Does the Toyota Glanza Have?

The car comes only with a 1.20L petrol engine paired to either a 5-speed manual or CVT transmission. If you are in the market for the latest premium hatchback, look at the Toyota Glanza.

    Final Thoughts

The Glanza is an excellent car with a 1.2-L dual-jet motor. It is very smooth, responsive, and has excellent performance. It is more affordable than Baleno in terms of price. All these features are enough to make Glanza a good car. You will be impressed with this vehicle if you compare it with its rivals.
