    One of the most integral and tough stages of the UPSC CSE is the Mains examination. Students have to convert their retained knowledge into visually-aesthetic and lengthy answers. Unfortunately, due to the objective nature of the Prelims examination, students often find it difficult to write answers. Thankfully, Eden IAS provides a Mains answer writing course with the name “SUGAM”.

    All you need to know about SUGAM

    “SUGAM” stands for Stay on Track and Enrich your Preparation. It is a comprehensive program that provides daily answer writing practice for UPSC. Each day is devoting to a particular paper, a topic, and a range of sub-topics. Students are first taught the art of Mains answer writing via overlapping topics. This is back by the logic that since you have just appear for Prelims, the topics of Prelims are fresh in your mind, hence you can grasp and perform well. 

    The course commences with the students taking up four questions each every day. The days are designate in the schedule which is intensively and comprehensively compiled for this course. It is hand over to the students beforehand so that they too have a fair idea as to how the course will be moving forward. 

    This course is mentor by expert faculty members of Eden IAS who do not constrict themselves to the role of mentors but walk an extra mile to give you pep talks and motivate you like friends. 

    Classes Schedule

    On Mondays, the conventional topics of GS-I such as History, Society, Indian Heritage, Geography and Culture, World) are covering. The mentor provides specific booklets from which all these topics are covering. The booklets make preparing as well as revising easy. Tuesdays are reserve for polity, social justice, governance, and international relations amongst other GS-II topics. Wednesdays are for GS-III which includes conventional topics such as disaster management, environment, security, technology, and economic development. GS-IV is cover on Thursdays. It is also call the “Ethics Day”. The topics revolve around conventional areas of Ethics, integrity, and aptitude.

    Here, special emphasis is laid on case studies ranging from deontological and start-up to business case studies. You are taught how to appear for case-study questions using a generic 10-step approach. Friday is devotes to a detail coverage of current affairs and essay topics. Under current affairs, topics of national and international relevance are cover via newspaper op-ed and editorials such as the ones publish in The Indian Express, The Hindu, The Tribune, The Business Standard etc. This also includes magazines such as  Kurukshetra, Yojana, World Focus, Civil Services Times etc. Media sources include The Big Picture by RSTV, DD, LSTV, AIR and to name a few. Online sources include PRS, PIB etc. For essays, topics revolving around gender, health, philosophical, environment, geo-political and psychological issues are covered in great detail.

    Every three months, the course covers one round of syllabus so if you are new and want to join, you can get on board from any Monday. This Answer writing practice for UPSC course is ideal for beginners as well as for experienced students.
